PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
India has conveyed a strong warning to Pakistan following the sighting of drones along the Line of Control and in Rajasthan. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said New Delhi has told Islamabad that such activity is “not acceptable” as Operation Sindoor continues to counter security challenges on the western front.
The issue was raised during Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) level talks on Tuesday. “We have told Pakistan to rein in its drones,” General Dwivedi said, adding that the Army remains fully alert and ready to respond to any misadventure.
General Dwivedi noted that the recent drone sightings, observed on January 10 to 12, involved small drones likely used for surveillance. “These were defensive drones, possibly deployed to see if any action was being taken against Pakistan,” he said, adding that Indian forces took counter-measures.
The Army chief underlined that the western front continues to require close attention following the Pahalgam attack. Operation Sindoor, he said, was executed with precision and has successfully strengthened India’s conventional posture while countering terrorist activities. Around 100 Pakistani personnel were neutralised during the operation along the LoC and International Border.
Security along the northern borders, including Jammu and Kashmir, remains sensitive but under control. Eight terrorist camps remain active near the LoC and IB, and vigilance continues. Drone sightings were also reported in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district over a thermal power plant near the India-Pakistan border, prompting counter-unmanned aerial systems measures.
General Dwivedi emphasised that Pakistan’s claims of nuclear escalation are political posturing and highlighted India’s readiness for conventional and technological warfare. Modernisation efforts, including advanced drones, BrahMos systems, loitering munitions, and AI integration, remain a key focus to ensure India’s preparedness along both western and northern fronts.
